#LATITUDE59: CGTrader, winner of the Pitching Competition 2015 talks about the event and the year that followed

CGTrader is a 3D model marketplace for computer graphics, 3D printing and virtual reality, backed by a strong professional designer community. Furthermore, it gives an opportunity for talented 3D designers to showcase their work, get valuable feedback from the community, learn from peers and interact in a designer-friendly environment. They also managed to win the pitching competition at Latitude59 2015. We asked them couple of questions about the event as well as the pitching competition.

How would you describe Latitude59? What kind of a event is it and why should anyone attend it is?

Latitude 59 is an awesome event with awesome international speakers from entrepreneurs to VCs. It is a great place to meet the key ecosystem players in Estonia and the Baltic region in one go. The event was also held in an awesome location. (We're going to be in the same location this year! - Startup Estonia)

Besides winning the pitching competition, what was the best part about Latitude59?

We really enjoyed the conference itself and the connections made during the event.

Why did you decide to take part of the pitching competition?

We wanted to have more visibility in the Baltic region among potential hires, mentors and investors - and Latitude really helped to achieve that.

What has been the value and benefit in growing your startup that the prizes from the Latitude59 pitching competition have helped you achieve?

We are working with most prize sponsors, they have provided legal advice and help in taking CGTrader forward on a number of important issues in our business.

What advice would you give to those who are planning to participate in the pitching competition this year?

It is important to be fairly concise and clear in your pitch and rehearse well. However, ultimately the most important thing is the underlying business you are building, so the work on nailing the competition starts much earlier than a few weeks prior to the conference.

How would you describe Tallinn for those who come here for the first time?

It is a very cosy city with a huge tech scene. There are many tech success stories coming from Tallinn, including Skype, GrabCAD, Transferwise and others, so definitely worth visiting if you are interested in startups and tech.

Latitude59 has a pitching competition coming up this year as well, make sure to apply as there are only 3 weeks left to do so! The winners of the competition will have the opportunity to attend Pitch@Palace Global at St James's Palace on 7th December, 2016 and will also receive prizes from IBM, Microsoft, ReedSmith Legal, TransferWise, Veebimajutus and Hedman Partners.
